Phyllis Ramirez, MD, is a psychiatrist who practices at UT Health East Texas Physicians North Campus Tyler. Dr. Ramirez began her career in behavioral health over 20 years ago, and works with her patients to identify psychological issues and psychiatric disorders.
According to Dr. Ramirez, “mental health is psychological, biological and spiritual. A healthy and balanced lifestyle is key to maintaining stability.” Although she sees patients from all backgrounds, she is especially interested in personality disorders and geriatrics.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Lamar University in Beaumont and her doctor of medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston. She also completed her general psychiatry residencies at UTMB and at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
Her personal interests include cooking, gardening and theology.
