Dr. Blood believes family has a great influence on a child's mental health and outcomes. Therefore, he works with the whole family when treating a child. "I believe you treat the whole family and not just the child. Working within the family system allows me to address all the challenges my patients are facing."

Inspired by a mission trip to Brazil, Dr. Blood's desire is to help his patients make positive changes in their lives. "I want to be able to help change a child's trajectory through their life," he said. "I love working with very young children to young adults. I'm also interested in working with those who have special needs."

When not working with patients, Dr. Blood enjoys woodworking, gardening, serving in his church, riding dirt bikes and all kinds of sports, especially basketball.

Dr. Blood is wonderful. He is caring and knowledgeable. He thinks outside the box. He addresses parent and child with compassion. Couldn’t be more thankful for his care.

We've had experiences with many of the child psychiatrists in the Tyler area and quite a few in DFW, and Dr. Blood is one of the best. He's got a great communication style with kids and listens to my input as a parent. We appreciate his knowledge of autism and ADHD and treatment options. He spends plenty of time with each of my children to understand what they need and how they are doing.

Dr Blood was great for my son. We have had previous experience with other psychiatrists and it was just pretty much about adjusting medicine doses. Dr blood really listened and offered help with resources beyond just filling an Rx . I really feel like he is a great fit for us.

My 6 year old has seen Dr. Blood now 2 times and he is always attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. I have already had to call the office due to medication issue and Dr. Blood personally called back in a timely manner and addressed the issue. He is a great doctor and has been super helpful for my daughter.
