Tiya Johnson, MD, is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist at UT Health East Texas Behavioral Health at North Campus Tyler.
“I believe that patients deserve individualized care where all factors affecting their lives are considered as contributors to their mental health. I believe in treating the entire patient and not just the mental illness for which they are seeking treatment,” said Dr. Johnson.
“I’ve always loved helping people and I felt that being a physician was the ultimate career that would allow me to help those who are suffering.” Her special areas of interest include child and adolescent psychiatry and forensic psychiatry.
Dr. Johnson provides comprehensive treatment to children, adolescents and young adults. This includes, but is not limited to, the treatment of the following disorders: depression, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), schizophrenia/psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder, autism, post-traumatic stress disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Her hobbies include mentoring, community service and dancing.
Dr. Johnson is employed as a clinical faculty physician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.
