"A holistic approach is essential for effective healing, combining evidence-based practice with attention to the broader aspects of medicine."

Dr. Maqsood got into healthcare to make a tangible difference in people's lives and experience the joy of healing. She believes in the profound impact a physician can have and she feels privileged to carry that lifelong responsibility.

Her special areas of interest include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and connective tissue disorders, which are intriguing due to their diverse presentations. "I strive to offer comprehensive, specific care plans tailored to each patient's priorities," she said.

"As an internal medicine resident, I explored various specialties, but rheumatology consistently stood out," she said. "The complexity of the field captivated me, and I found each new case fascinating. Rheumatology felt like a calling to me."

In her free time, Dr. Maqsood enjoys exploring new places with her family and watching TV shows and movies. In addition to English, Dr. Maqsood is fluent in Urdu and Punjabi.

Dr. Maqsood is employed as a clinical faculty physician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.
